A Brief History

At one one time, 1960-2007, there was a beautiful 18 hole golf course behind our buildings beginning where the hedges and bushes begin covering the elementary school, memory care business, apartment buildings and Waln St. There was even a clubhouse.

Our complex was built in 1979 and occasionally a golf ball found its way into yards. Once the course was closed, the property sat vacant for years. Eventually, the elementary school was built, city park was planned, apartments and memory care. It's been at least 4-5yrs since City of Salem has had a town meeting to discuss park options.

Believe it or not, Fairway had a stop sign to get on Commercial!!
